EMDR for Stress & Trauma
One of the trauma-informed treatments that has the highest efficacy
and outcomes is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Yvette Coronado, LMFT is fully trained in EMDR.
PHASES 1 and 2 of EMDR will be completed outdoors usually, during which we will be
building rapport, a plan, and positive coping strategies.
There will then be a mix of in-person and virtual sessions for the other EMDR phases of treatment depending on preference and clinical recommendations.

EMDR length of treatment depends on how many targets (triggers and accompanying automatic negative thoughts or beliefs) want to be worked on, trauma history, current life circumstances, natural supports, and intensity of symptoms, among other factors. EMDR treatment can last as little as a few months to as long as a year or more.
